Edith Rogers Street, of 2426 Stone Drive, Johnson City, died Thursday, May 26, 2005 at the Unicoi County Long Term Care, following a lengthy illness. She was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County, daughter of the late William Carter and Mary Baskett Rogers. She was homemaker and was employed by Pepsi Inc. She was a member of Bowmantown Baptist Church. She was a member of Washington County Federation of Republican Women where she served as president in 1966. She was active in PTA and other school functions and she was a volunteer and a caregiver. She enjoyed reading and attending plays at Barter Theatre. She was preceded in death by one sister, Annette Rogers McCurry and one brother, Hervey Rogers. Survivors include two sons, Dick W. Street and his wife Ann of Baytown, Texas and Ronald M. Street, Bowmantown and a daughter, Donna 'Judy' and her husband Larry Hodges of Johnson City, two sisters, Dorothy Lynch of Johnson City and Buena and her husband Jack Stallard, Unicoi, three brothers, Ralph and his wife Audrey Rogers, Charleston, SC, Gerald and his wife Peggy Rogers, Bowmantown and Jack and his wife Gala Rogers, Dalton, GA, seven grandchildren, Richard Street, Mark Street, John Street, Tom Hodges, Andy Hodges, Tammy Street , Brian Street, eight great grandchildren and, two great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service is scheduled for Edith Rogers Street at Morris-Baker Funeral Home South Chapel at 8:00 PM, Saturday, May 28th under the direction of Pastor Mike Tyson, pastor of Unaka Avenue Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 6:00p.m. until time of service at 8:00 p.m. A committal service will be conducted in the Washington County Memory Gardens on Sunday, May 29th at 2:00PM. Family and friends are asked to assemble at Morris - Baker Funeral Home at 1:30 PM to go in procession. Pallbearers are Eddie Adams, Tony Simpson, Tony Gosnell, Dirk Campbell, Wayne Presley and Robey Strickland. Honorary pallbearers are Dean Street, Ray Street, Henry Williams, John Sloan, Ralph Martin, Keith Adams and Jackie Adams. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Bowmantown Baptist Church, 418 Bowmantown Rd. Jonesborough Tn. 37659 or to the American Cancer Society, 508 Princeton Rd, Johnson City, Tn. 376
