Edwin R. Goodman

Edwin R. Goodman, 73, of 203 Lourie Avenue, Johnson City, died Tuesday, December 19, 2006 at the home of his daughter at 895 Mills Springs Road, Jonesborough following an illness. He was a native of Ashe County, NC, son of the late, Robert James and Muriel Goodman Goodman. Edwin was member of the Midway Baptist Church and the Midway Ruritan where he was currently treasurer and a past President. He was known for his hotdogs at the turkey shoots. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister Vivian Crawford. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Lucille Greer Goodman of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Eddie and Darla Goodman of Johnson City; a daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Mike Clouse of Jonesborough; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Gene and Lucille Goodman of Johnson City and Charles and Hazel Goodman of Sulpher Springs; four sisters, Ruby Clark of Gray, Mary Dykes of Johnson City, Joyce Trent and her husband Gary of Kingsport and Edna Crawford and her husband Clarence of Kingsport; his step-mother, Edith Goodman of Flat Rock, NC and three step-brothers, Dale, Darrell and Dallas Goodman all of NC; three grandchildren, Muriel Nicole Carson and her husband, Barry, Mikey Clouse and his wife, Becky and Greer Goodman; a great grandson, Caden Carson; several nieces and nephews; a very special friend, James Talbert. A funeral service is scheduled for Thursday, December 21, 2006 at 8:00 p.m. at the Morris - Baker Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until time of service at eight. A committal service will be conducted on Friday, December 22, 2006 at the Monte Vista Memorial Park at 11:00 a.m. Friends and family are asked to meet at the cemetery. Active pallbearers will be: James Talbert, Bill Greer, Barry Carson, Mikey Clouse and Roger Greer. Honorary pallbearers will be: Larry Benfield and Mel Broyles.
