Elbert S. Miller

Elbert S. 'Zeke' Miller, 89, 802 W Locust Street, died Sunday, May 21, 2006 at his residence. Mr. Miller was a native and lifelong resident of Johnson City. He was a son of the late Frank S. and Roma Eiseman Miller. His wife, Florence Divine Miller and two daughters, Evan Miller Leahy and Avis Miller Jones preceded him in death. He was a retired vice president of first Tennessee Bank. He was a WWII US Army veteran. Mr. Miller was a member of St. John?s Episcopal Church, Kings Mountain Post 24 American Legion, John Sevier Post # 2108 VFW, Johnson City Masonic Lodge # 486, Jericho Shrine Temple, Johnson City Elks Lodge #825 and the Johnson City Moose Lodge # 1831. Survivors include one sister, Ida M. Cowell, Johnson City; three grandchildren, Emily Leahy, Meredith Leahy and Kristen McKinney all of Knoxville and three nephews. A graveside funeral service for Mr. Miller will be held at 2 PM Wednesday, May 24, 2006 at Monte Vista Memorial Park. The Reverend Margaret Zeller will officiate. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 1:30 PM and travel in procession to the cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to St. Johns Episcopal Church, 500 North Roan Street, Johnson City, TN 37601 or the charity of your choice.
