Eldridge Simpson

Eldridge Simpson, 80, 201 E. Mountain View Road, Johnson City Died Monday, December 4, 2006 in the James H. Quillen Veterans Affairs Medical Center at Mountain Home. Mr. Simpson was a native of Hawkins County, TN and had lived most of his life in Johnson City. He was a son of the late Leonard and Ola Cox Simpson. Mr. Simpson was a retired carpenter and a member of the Arnolds Chapel Holiness Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WW II and a member of the John Sevier VFW Post # 2108 . Mr. Simpson is preceded in death by: his parents; and one daughter, Kay Price in 2001. Survivors include: his wife, Wanda Tate Simpson of the home; one son, Jerry Simpson of Johnson City; one daughter, Janet Keys of Jonesborough; four sisters, Louise Miller, Lorene Simpson, and Jean Williams, all of Johnson City, and Chima Isenberg of Pleasantville, Iowa; three grandsons, David Brown and Travis Brown of Jonesborough, and Joel Price of Kingsport; several nieces and nephews also survive. The funeral service for Eldridge Simpson will be conducted at 8 PM Thursday, December 7, 2006 in the Morris-Baker North Chapel. Rev. Roy Brickey will officiate. The family will receive friends in the funeral chapel from 6 to 8 PM Thursday prior to the service. The graveside service will be conducted at 11 AM Friday in the Washington County Memory Gardens. Military Honors will be accorded by the V.F.W. Post # 3382 of Kingsport. Everyone will meet at the cemetery at 10:55 AM for that service. Active pallbearers will be David Brown, Travis Brown, Joel Price, Wayne Miller, Dennis Miller, Rodney Williams, and Danny Mack Keys. Honorary pallbearers will be Carl Crowe and Ralph Friday.
