Elise Rouse Wilson, age 81, 1033 Waterbrooke Lane, died April 18, 2005, at the Johnson City Medical Center. Born on June 22, 1923, in Beulaville, NC, Mrs. Wilson was a long-time resident of Fayetteville, NC. Mrs. Wilson and her Husband of 62 years, George Dean Wilson Sr., moved to Johnson City, TN, in 2004 to be near her Sons, Daughter-in-Law and Grandchildren. Mrs. Wilson was the daughter of the late Henry Rouse and Myrtie Dunn Rouse, and the stepdaughter of Walter T. Crowson, all of whom preceded her in death. Survivors include her husband, George D. Wilson Sr.; her son Dr. G. Dean Wilson Jr. and wife, Janine Johnston Wilson, Johnson City, TN, and her son Walter R. (Rip) Wilson, Blowing Rock, N.C.; 2 grandsons, Ashley Dean Wilson, Johnson City, TN, Ryan George Wilson, Park City, UT; and 3 granddaughters, Alston Wilson, Greenville, N.C., and Kelsey and Leah Wilson, Blowing Rock, N.C. Mrs. Wilson was a member of Highland Presbyterian Church and for many years led church circles and taught Sunday School classes at Highland Church. Mrs. Wilson graduated from Fayetteville High School and The Womens College (W.C.) of the University of N.C. at Greensboro. She taught English at Fayetteville High School, served on the Board of Higher Education for the State of N.C., the Board of Governors for the Universities of N.C. and was a member of the Board of Trustees at the University of N.C. at Greensboro (formerly Women?s College). Mrs. Wilson co-founded the Democratic Women?s Club of Fayetteville and the Teen Club in Fayetteville, N.C. She also founded the Debate Club at Fayetteville High School, leading the group during her years as an English teacher at the school. Mrs. Wilson was a member of the Pine Needles Garden Club of Fayetteville for many years. Graveside services will be conducted by Reverend Leighton McKeithen at Lafayette Memorial Park, 2301 Ramsey Street, Fayetteville, N.C., on Friday, April 22, 2005, at 11:30 a.m. Family members will meet privately at Highland Presbyterian Church following the graveside services. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions may be made to The Leighton McKeithen Fund, Highland Presbyterian Church, 111 Highland Ave., Fayetteville, N.C. 28305.
