Her loving heart touched many. May this Precious Soul Rest in Peace! Ellen Louise Via, 57, of 1514 Chickees Street, Johnson City, died Thursday, August 4, 2005 at Vanderbilt Medical Center Hospital. Ellen was a native of Phoenix, Arizona, daughter of the late Oscar DeWitt and Alice Weber Bounds. She was a registered nurse at the Veteran Affairs Medical Center at Mt. Home and had served in the U. S. Army. She was a member of the Calary Fellowship of God Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Bounds. Survivors include: two daughters, Vanessa Renee Via (& Donny) Stapleton of Jonesborough and Alaina Louise Via of Johnson City; and her twin Franklin Jason Via of Johnson City; two grandchildren Amanda Renay and Emily Beth Johnson; a sister, Barbara (& L. J.) Pecot of Greensburg, LA. A funeral service is scheduled for Monday, August 8, 2005 at 7:00 p.m. in the South Chapel of the Morris - Baker Funeral Home, under the direction of Pastor Johnny Chase. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until time of service at seven. A committal service will be conducted on Tuesday, August 9, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. in the U. S. National Cemetery at Mt. Home with military honors provided by the V. F. W. of Kingsport Post 3382. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 9:15 a.m. to go in procession to the cemetery. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at the Vanderbilt Medical Center for the care and concern.
