Elsie Elaine Watson

August 23, 1923 — July 7, 2007

Elsie Elaine Freeman Watson, 83, of the Pinecrest area, died July 7, 2007 at the Lifecare Center of Elizabethton. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, friend and Sunday School teacher for 59 and a half years. Elsie was a native of Carter County, daughter of the late Hanford Roscoe and Myrtle Lee Wiseman Freeman. She was a retired employee of Wrights Supermarkets. Elsie was a lifelong member of the Tacoma Church of God. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by: a granddaughter Kimberley Dawn Quillin and a brother, Herbert Ray Freeman. Survivors include: her husband, Harry B. Watson of Johnson City; three daughters Karen Elaine Lane of Kingsport, Shelby E. Lyons of Johnson City and Ellen Fay Smith of Elizabethton; three sons-in-law, Claude Lane of Kingsport, Shelby E. Lyons of Johnson City and Charles E. Smith of Elizabethton; three granddaughters Karen Ervin of Limestone, Kristen Babb of Johnson City, Heather Hughes of Johnson City; two great granddaughters, Brittney and Lindsey Babb of Johnson City; three great grandsons, Jonathan and William Ervin of Limestone and Tristan Quillin of Kingsport. A sister, Helen Hutsell of Johnson City; a brother, Harry Freeman of Gray; a host of family, friends and caretakers. A funeral service is scheduled for Tuesday, July 10, 2007 at 8:00 p.m. at the Tacoma Church of God, under the direction of Rev. Bill Konstantopulos and Dr. Darrell Sovine. The family will receive friends 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the church. A committal service will be conducted on Wednesday, July 11, 2007 at the Happy Valley Memorial Park at 11:00 a.m. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the funeral home to leave in procession at 10:30 a.m. Active pallbearers will be: Charles 'Bulldog'? Smith, Mark Babb, Shelby Lyons, Thomas Ervin, Otis Scalf, Sid Williams, Lee Freeman and David Slayton. Honorary pallbearers will be: members of the E. Tennessee Chapter of Ex POWs, Claude Lane, Asher Lewis, Randy Freeman, Jack West, Mike Freeman, Dr. Phil Jones, Rev. D. C. Byrd and Rev. Mack Houston. Memorials may be made in the form of contributions to: the American Ex POWs, East Tennessee Chapter, the Tacoma Church of God, 1105 John Exum Parkway, Johnson City, TN 37604, Child Evangelism Fellowship of Johnson City, 908 Chase Drive, Johnson City, TN 37604 or the LifeCare Center of Elizabethton, Activities Program, 1641 Highway 19E., P.
