Emily Katherine Day Whynot, age 43, passed away on Saturday, May 26, 2012, at the Johnson City Medical Center in Johnson City, TN. She was born February 25, 1969, in Kingsport, Tennessee, the daughter of James Allen and Sara Jane Anderson Day. She was the youngest of three girls. On August 11, 1999, she married Dwight Carson Whynot. She earned a Bachelors of Science Degree, majoring in Biology from East Tennessee State University and continued her studies graduating from George Washington University with a Physician Assistant Degree. She was employed at Medical Care, PLLC. Emilys love for Jesus began at an early age growing up at Cornerstone Church. As an adult, she was a member of First Christian Church where she attended 'Alive at Eleven' Sunday school class, as well as Wednesday Night Bible Study Group. Emily is survived by her parents, her husband, a daughter, Sara Grace and a son Carson James; two sisters, Robin Day, Winston Salem, North Carolina and Beth Good Day Huntsville, Alabama; brother in laws, Jerry (Cindy) Whynot, Ontario, Canada, and David Whynot, Ontario, Canada; nieces, Katie Good, Hunts ville, Alabama, Regan Whynot, Ontario, Canada; nephews, Cody Whynot, Brooks Whynot, Tristan Whynot and Aiden Whynot, Ontario, Canada. Receiving of Friends will be Tuesday, May 29, 2012, from 5:00-7:00 pm at the First Christian Church, Mountcastle Dr., Johnson City. Immediately following will be a Celebration of Life at 7:00 pm. Officiated by Dr. Tim Wallingford, Dr. Barry Burns, and Rev. Becky Haas.
