Ruth Berry Ford, 86, of 906 E. Mountain View Road, Johnson City died Tuesday, January 6, 2009 at her residence. Mrs. Ford was a native and lifelong resident of Johnson City and was a daughter of the late Alvin Vernon and Lilly Mae Barr Berry. Mrs. Berry was a retired LPN from Colonial Hills Nursing Home and had also worked at Johnson City Memorial Hospital. She was a member of the Johnson City Seventh Day Adventist Church. She is preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, Clifton 'Henry'? Ford in 1987; one brother, Robert Berry; and one sister, Doris B. Coleman. Survivors include: four daughters, Phyllis and her husband Sam Shell of Gray, Carolyn and her husband Richard White of Johnson City, Judy and her husband Lee Jones of Jonesborough, and Brenda King of Johnson City; one brother, Raymond Berry of Johnson City; four grandchildren, Bo Shell, Jennifer Barker, Joey Jones and Leslie Watson; seven great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive. The funeral service for Ruth Berry Ford will be conducted at 8 PM Thursday, January 8, 2009 in the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Pastor Paull Dixon will officiate. The committal service will be conducted at 11 AM Friday in the Monte Vista Memorial Park. Everyone will meet at the cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Bo Shell, Joey Jones, Joe Barker, Chris Watson, Bobby Mays and Lee Jones. Honorary pallbearers will be Ronnie Dugger, Ray Johnson, Sam Shell, Richard White, Lee Jones, David Holt, and Dr.J. Dale Grant. The family will receive friends at Morris-Baker from 6 to 8 PM Thursday. To those who desire, memorials may be sent to the Johnson City Seventh Day Adventist Church, 1910 E.
