Ernest Griffith Cook

Ernest G. Cook, age 86, of 1403 East Oakland Ave, Johnson City, Tennessee died Thursday, April 21st, 2005 at Life Care Center of Elizabethton. Mr. Cook was a native of Monroe, North Carolina, the son of the late Mary Norman Cook and T. B. Cook. He was retired, having been the director of industrial relations at North American Rayon Company in Elizabethton. A graduate of High Point College, Mr. Cook had also attended graduate school at City College in New York, New York. He was a member of Millbrook United Methodist Church and Lions Club International. A son, Danny S. Cook, preceded Mr. Cook in death in 2001. He is survived by his wife, Faye Melton Cook of Johnson City, one brother, Cam T. Cook, Monroe, North Carolina, two sons, Michael E. Cook, Austell, Georgia, Ken W. Cook, Charlotte, North Carolina, one daughter, Faye Cook Webb, Hampton, Virginia, three grandchildren, Karen Cook and Darren Cook of Austell, Georgia and David Cook of Van Wyck, South Carolina and two great grandchildren, Chloe and Genevieve Cook of Van Wyck. Funeral services for Mr. Cook will be held in the North Chapel of Morris-Baker Funeral Home at 5:00 PM on Sunday, April 24th. The Rev. Bob Edmonds will officiate. Graveside services and burial will be Monday morning at 10:00 AM at Washington County Memory Gardens. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery.
