Everett Miller

March 5, 1927 — January 26, 2019

Everett ?Jack' Miller, 91, Erwin, passed away Saturday, January 26th, at Johnson City Medical Center. Everett, an honorable veteran, served on the European front in World War II, stationed in Germany. He was a passionate lifelong Democrat. He loved woodworking, creating many beautiful pieces and the home he built later in life for his family. He spent a great deal of time with the local Optimist Club as well. He was born in Lamar, Tennessee, a son of the late Hardin and Mabel Booth Miller. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Virginia Mae Miller; son, Larry Miller; sister, Sara June Miller; brothers, Robert Miller, Charles M Miller, and John Wallace Miller. Survivors include: his children, Everett ?Roland' and Debbie Miller, Joe and Vickie Miller, Mary and David Long, and Sara Miller; sister, Louise Miller Jackson; sisters-in-law Hellen Dunn and Ellen Wellequer; grand and great grandchildren, Samara and Brian Reece and their son Orrin, Janay Miller, Kesha Miller and her daughter Avaleigh, Ayla and Josh Bryant and their daughter Matilda, Everett ?Zack' and Taylor Miller and their son Sullivan, Major Roy R and Rebekah Byrd and their children Spencer, Griffin, Miles, and Alys; Victoria Long, Ethan Long, Jackson Miller, Robert Swatzel and his daughters Leea and Angel, Rochelle and Jason Gaddis and their children James, Jadin, and Jaci. The family would like to extend much gratitude to Belinda James for the compassion and care shown to Mr. Miller in his final days. The family will have a private committal service Wednesday, January 30th, 2019. Later, the family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Morris-Baker Funeral Home, to celebrate the outstanding life and share memories of this wonderful man.
