Faye G. Smith

Faye G. Smith, 76, 204 Bettie Street, Johnson City died Friday, September 8, 2006 in the Johnson City Medical Center. Mrs. Smith was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County, TN and a daughter of the late James Wiley and Biddie Ellen Simerly Giles. Mrs. Smith was a retired nurses aide from Range Hall Nursing Home and the Johnson City Medical Center with thirty-five years of caring service. She was a member of the Keystone Free Will Baptist Church. Mrs. Smith is preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, Eugene Bruce Smith in 1975; two sons, James David Smith and Roger Keith Smith; three brothers, James Robert Giles, William Carl Giles, and Grover Cleveland Giles; and one sister, Lee Ester Giles. Survivors include: two sons, Michael Bruce Smith and Carl Eugene Smith, both of the home; one sister, Joyce Rash of Talbott, TN; a special nephew, Bobby Giles of Gray; a special cousin, Jack Simerly of Johnson City; several nieces and nephews. A graveside funeral service for Faye G. Smith will be conducted at 2 PM Monday, September 11, 2006 in the Monte Vista Memorial Park. Chaplain Eric Jewette and Rev. Bill Greer will officiate. The family will receive friends at Morris-Baker from 1 to 1:45 PM Monday prior to the service. Everyone will meet at the cemetery at 2 PM for the service. In lieu of flowers Mrs. Smith requested that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, 508 Princeton Road, Suite 102, Johnson City, TN 37601 or to your favorite charity.
