Fletcher Lloyd Parsons

Fletcher Lloyd Parsons, 98, of Johnson City, died Sunday, January 10, 2016 at Lakebridge Health Care Center. Fletcher was a native of Jonesborough, son of the late William S. and Margaret Briggs Parsons. Fletcher was a retired employee of Klopman Mills and owner of Parsons Gift Shoppe. He was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Jonesborough. Fletcher was a former member of the Moose Lodge 1831, Johnson City. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Verna Mae Gallimore Parsons in 1994; three children, Betty P. Barnes, Roger D. Parsons and Terry L. Parsons; four brothers, Jake, Craig, Bill, and E. B. ?Scout' Parsons; six sisters, Myrtle, Ethel, Pearl, Carrie, Nell, and Hettie. Survivors include: three granddaughters, Kelly R. Barnes, Terra P. Combs and Heather D. Parsons all of Johnson City; a daughter-in-law, Phyllis R. Parsons of Jonesborough; two great grandsons, Cody L. Combs and Parrish B. Combs both of Johnson City; several nieces and nephews; his special neighbor, April Harris; and his ?big white dog' Bentley. The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 14, 2016 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at Morris-Baker Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 8:00pm in the Dogwood Chapel under the direction of Pastor Michael J. Woodward. A committal service will be held at Highland Cemetery on Friday, January 15, 2016 at 11:00am. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the funeral home to leave in procession by 10:30am.
