Florence Quinton

August 6, 1908 — September 30, 2006

Mrs. Florence Freeman Quinton, 98, formerly of 160 Max Jett Road, Johnson City passed away September 30, 2006 at the Four Oaks Health Care Center in Jonesborough. She was a native of Carter County, daughter of the late William Hamilton and Polly Jane Ward Freeman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son Norman L. Sams; and her second husband Roy Quinton; six brothers, Hanford, Frank, Clyde, Charles, Ralph and Luther Freeman; two sisters, Texie Freeman and Cordie Green. Survivors include: several nieces, nephews and cousins, several great nieces and nephews. Mrs. Quinton was a member of the Pinecrest Baptist Church. After forty years of service, she retired as a saleslady at the New Vogue Dress Shop in downtown Johnson City. A graveside service is scheduled for Tuesday, October 3, 2006 at 11:30 a.m. in the Happy Valley Memorial Park with Pastor Gary Thacker officiating. Family members and friends may pay their respects from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the Morris - Baker Funeral Home and are requested to meet at the cemetery for the committal service at 11:30 a.m. The family would like to express their gratitude to Mrs. Quinton?s former caregivers and to the Nursing Staff at the Four Oaks Health Care Center. Their professional care and personal concern were a great source of comfort to her. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made in the form of donations to the Pinecrest Baptist Church, 2129 Old Lewis Road, Johnson City, TN 37601.
