Frances Jane McIntyre, 81, died Saturday, April 30, 2005, at her residence following a lengthy illness with cancer ? which she battled bravely, never complaining. She was a native of Johnson City and the daughter of the late Thomas William, Sr. and Geneva Mae Carathers McIntyre. Living most of her life in Johnson City, working as a caregiver, she was a devoted daughter and sister, she spent her life meeting the needs of her family. Her life exemplified her love for God. She was a loving teacher to many children during her years of faithful service and attendance at her church. She once received a plaque honoring her 48 years of perfect attendance. A special thanks to her many dear friends who were always there to offer her love and encouragement, and, at times meeting her physical needs as well. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Georgie Hinnant King, and four brothers, Thomas William McIntyre, Jr., James Lawrence McIntyre, Melvin Ray McIntyre and Robert Hugh McIntyre. Survivors include, five sisters, Lottie Spain, Clara Rose, Barbara Stewart and Diana McIntyre, all of Johnson City and Mary Thrasher of Lithonia, GA, several nieces and nephews. A graveside service is scheduled for Tuesday, May 3, 2005 in the Roselawn Memory Gardens at 2:30 p.m., under the direction of Rev. Steve Guinn. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Morris-Baker Funeral Home, when family and friends will go in procession to the cemetery. Pallbearers will be close friends. Memorials may be made in the form of contributions to the American Cancer Society, 508 Princeton Rd. Ste. 102, Johnson City, TN 37601.
