Frances Louise Hammer

February 24, 1920 — April 20, 2007

Frances Louise Hammer, 87, 1315 Woodside Drive, died Friday, April 20, 2007 at the Johnson City Medical Center. Mrs. Hammer was a Greene County native and had lived in Johnson City most of her life. She was a daughter of the late Thomas Edgar Sauls and Della White Sauls. Mrs. Hammer was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Hammer in 1999, three brothers, Homer Sauls, Robert Sauls and Roy Sauls and two sisters, Dessie Morelock and Esta Bolton. Mrs. Hammer was an active member of Tacoma Church of God. She served on several boards and committees, including Deacon Board. She was also an active member of Women of Church of God of Tennessee and held state offices. She was a member of the Crusaders Class at Tacoma. She was owner and operator of Louise?s Beauty Shop in her home. Survivors include two daughters, Connie Bryant, Lamsburg, VA and Donna Sue Johnson, Johnson City; one son, Gary Hammer, Bartlett, TN; seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. A funeral service for Mrs. Hammer will be conducted at 5 PM Sunday, April 22, 2007 from the Morris-Baker Funeral Home South Chapel. Dr. Darrell Sovine will officiate. Graveside services will be held at 10 AM Monday, April 23, 2007 at Monte Vista Memorial Park. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the funeral home at 9:45 AM and travel in procession to the cemetery. Pallbearers will be Scott Johnson, Shannon Johnson, David Reaves, Matt Hammer, Mark Richardson and Donnie Bryant. The family will receive friends from 3-5 PM Sunday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions may be made to Tacoma Church of God, 1005 John Exum Pkwy, Johnson City, TN 37604.
