Frank John Huff

Frank John Huff, 76, 1516 Sylvan Drive, Johnson City, passed away Monday, January 22, 2007 in the James H. Quillen Veterans Medical Center at Mountain Home following a brief illness. Mr. Huff was a native of Cocke County who had lived most of his life in Johnson City. He was the son of the late James Wesley Huff and Dorothy Mae Parks Huff. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by one sister, Rachel Rebecca Huff and one brother, Donald Eugene Huff. He was retired from the North American Rayon with thirty two years of service. He was a staff Sargent in the U.S Army serving in Korea. Mr. Huff was a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors include his four sisters Ilalie (Lee) and special brother-in-law Herbert (Pete) Atchley, Minnie Fish, Della Coggins all of Johnson City and Sarah Owens, of South Carolina; one brother, Steven Huff and his wife Vivan, of Johnson City; two daughters, Diane Adams and Debbie Lane both of Johnson City; one son, Gerald Huff, of Johnson City; six grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive. The graveside service for Frank John Huff will be conducted at 2:30 PM Thursday, January 25, 2007 in the Monte Vista Memorial Park. Wesley Simons will officiate. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home at 2:00 PM Thursday to go in procession. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Military honors will be accorded by the VFW Post # 3382 and the Tennessee National Guard of Kingsport. The family will receive friends in the funeral chapel from 1 to 2 PM Thursday prior to the service. Family and friends may visit other times at the home of Pete and Lee Atchley, 123 Trenton Drive, Johnson City. Special thanks to the staff of C-1 and C- Ground at the VA Medical Center for everything they have done to make Frank comfortable.
