Mr. Fred R. 'Hawk Eye'? Hawkins, age 81, of Johnson City, passed away, Friday, November 25, 2011 in the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center. Mr. Hawkins was a native and lifelong resident of Johnson City. He was the son of the late Carl B. Hawkins and Lillie Mae Arwood Hawkins. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by three brothers, Gene, Wayne and Sam Hawkins. Mr. Hawkins was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in the Korean Conflict. He was a Self Employed Painter. Mr. Hawkins was very supportive and proud of his Indian heritage. He never said good-bye to anyone just Ill see you later. Survivors include: four sons, Jeff Hawkins of Johnson City, Freddie Hawkins and his wife Angie of Johnson City, Lynn Hawkins and his wife Kimberly of Puyallup, Washington and Scottie Hawkins of Johnson City; two daughters, Carla Weese and her husband Gary of Jonesborough and Becky Banks and her husband Frank of Greeneville; one brother, Ray Hawkins and his wife Bessie of Apple Creek, Ohio; one sister, Ann Shell of Johnson City; nine grandchildren, Mandy, Jeanie, Crystal, Jason, Taylor, Brian, Nicole, Ethan and Emma; three great grandchildren, Logan, Lexi and Aiden. The funeral service for Mr. Fred R. 'Hawk Eye'? Hawkins will be conducted at 10 AM Tuesday, November 29, 2011 in the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Rev. Scott Street will officiate. The graveside committal service will follow in the Mountain Home National Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The Boone Dam Post # 4933 and the Tennessee National Guard will accord military rights.
