Gareth C. Weaver

Gareth C. Weaver, 85, 1312 E. Chilhowie Ave., died Tuesday, March 17, 2009 at the Johnson City Medical Center. Mr. Weaver was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County. He was a son of the late C.K. and Molly Price Weaver and was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Henry Weaver; three sisters, Carmen Keats, Gladys Hendrix and Louise Pugh. Mr. Weaver was a former employee of Burlington Industries, Empire Furniture and retired from Free Service Tire. After retirement he was employed part time by Asbury Place. He was a member of East Unaka Christian Church. Survivors include his wife, Lucille E. Weaver; one son, Randy A. Weaver and his wife Carolyn, Johnson City; three grandchildren, Mandy N. Jones, Johnson City, Carly Ann Weaver, Johnson City and Heath Weaver, Johnson City; four great grandchildren, Triston (Chance) Peters, Jaden Brooke Jones, Lauren Marisa Weaver and Haley Alexis Weaver and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service for Mr. Weaver will be conducted at 8 pm Wednesday, March 18, 2009 from the Morris-Baker Funeral Home South Chapel. Dr. Wayne Emery will officiate. Graveside services will be held at 11 am Thursday March 19, 2009 at Monte Vista Memorial Park. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the funeral home at 10:30 am and travel in procession to the cemetery. Pallbearers will be Roger Benfield, Bill Butler, Jerry Holt, Chance Peters, Heath Weaver and Josh Jones.The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
