Gene Senter

November 4, 1919 — February 5, 2007

Gene Senter, 87, 1911 E. Oakland Ave., went to be with the Lord, Jesus, Monday, February 5, 2007 at the Johnson City Medical Center. Mr. Senter was an Elkhorn City, KY native and had lived in Johnson City since 1938. He enjoyed the forty-four and one half years of employment with the Johnson City Power Board before retiring in 1980. Mr. Senter was a son of the late Bruce and Florence Mullins Senter. He was preceded in death by his loving daughter, Jean Ann Senter Nave in 1997; three sisters, Myrtle Sneed, Jessie Belcher and Melster Colley and one brother, Walton Hale Senter. Mr. Senter was a member of University Parkway Baptist Church and served on the deacon and trustee boards for many years. He was a WWII US Navy veteran. Survivors include his wife, Anges Senter, Johnson City; two daughters, Twilla Click and Jewell Carr both of Johnson City; three grandchildren, Christopher Click, LeAnne Click and Aaron Carr; two great grandchildren, Jordan Ray Click and Sarah Grace Ann Click; one brother, Robert Bruce 'Bobby' Senter, Mt. Carmel; three sisters, Katie Lowe, Nancy Tillet and Mary Artripp all of Elizabethton and several precious nieces and nephews. A funeral service for Mr. Senter will be conducted at 8 PM Tuesday, February 6, 2007 from the Morris-Baker Funeral Home South Chapel. Dr. Michael Oaks will officiate. Graveside services will be held at 2 PM Wednesday, February 7, 2007 at Monte Vista Memorial Park. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the funeral home at 1:30 PM Wednesday at the funeral home and travel in procession to the cemetery. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
