Gloria Patricia Gifford

Gloria Patricia Gifford, 84, of Johnson City, died Monday, April 23, 2007 at her residence. She was a native of Akron, Ohio, daughter of the late George Henry and Gertrude Victoria Schwabaugh Friess. She was a member of St. Mary?s Catholic Church and served on the parrish council for three years. While living in Johnson City, Gloria enjoyed working at Massengills. She loved visiting her children and grandchildren and tending her garden. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband John J. Gifford. Survivors include: two sons, Jack Gifford and his wife Penny, Steve Gifford; three daughters, Monica Dolbi, Ann Pontow and Gloria Greene and her husband Ken; four grandchildren, Eric Greene, Michael Dolbi, Michelle Dolbi and Erin Pontow; a brother, John Friess and his wife Wanda; a half brother, Michael Friess; a half sister, Carol McDonough, a sister-in-law, Dorothy Linnane; special friends, Martin Toews and Denise Mickalites; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 25, 2007 at the church followed by Mass at 1:00 p.m. under the direction of Father William Gahagan. A committal service will follow in the Monte Vista Memorial Park. Memorials may be made in the form of contributions to the St. Mary?s Catholic Church, 2221 E. Oakland Avenue, Johnson City, TN 37601.
