Gwen Lee Walden

Gwen Lee Walden, 56 of Johnson City, was found deceased at his residence on Wednesday, April 12, 2006. He was a native and lifelong resident of Johnson City, son of the late Chester Lee Walden and Mrs. Peggy Ruth Woodruff. He was an employee of American Water Heater for 38 years and was of the Baptist faith. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, William Oscar Walden. Survivors include: two sons, Gwen Lee Walden, Jr. of Erwin and Dustin Ashley Walden of Johnson City; a daughter, Crystal Gail Walden of Erwin; his mother, Peggy Ruth Woodruff of Johnson City; four brothers, Larry, Robert, Randy and Charles Walden all of Johnson City; five sisters, Shirley Bradley of Massachusetts, Joan Castle, Doris 'Dee' Allen, Ruby Huffine and Robin Cline all of Johnson City, several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 13, 2006 at the Morris - Baker Funeral Home South Chapel under the direction of Rev. Roy Wilson and Rev. Kevin Laws. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until time of services at eight. A committal service will be held on Friday, April 14, 2006 in the Monte Vista Memorial Park at 11:00 a.m. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. to go in procession to the cemetery. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.
