Harry Leon Casteel

Harry Leon Casteel, 65, of 2734 East Oakland Avenue, Johnson City, died Sunday, December 7, 2008 at the Johnson City Medical Center. He was a native of Russell County, Virginia, son of the late Troy Isaac and Mary Ruth Alley Casteel. Harry was a brakeman and conductor for the Clinchfield Railroad, later the CSX Railroad. He attended the Central Church of Christ. Survivors include: his wife of 43 years, Jacqueline Casteel of the home, two daughters and a son-in-law, Angela S. and Tim Griffith of Wytheville, Virginia and Misti D. Casteel of the home; three brothers, James 'Bud'? Casteel of Charlotte, North Carolina, Dennis Casteel and David Casteel both of Castlewood, Virginia; two sisters, Pat Jessee of Dickensonville, Virginia and Jean Tarr of Castlewood, Virginia; two grandchildren, Jade Elizabeth and Savannah Grace Griffith; several nieces and nephews. A committal service is scheduled for Tuesday, December 9, 2008 in the Mausoleum Chapel of the Washington County Memory Gardens, under the direction of Rev. Bob Edmonds. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the cemetery.
