Hazel J. Fair

Hazel Joines Fair, 94, 1424 E. Lakeview Drive, Johnson City, died Saturday, April 2, 2005 in the North Side Hospital. Mrs. Fair was a native of Carter County and had lived in Johnson City since 1939. She was a daughter of the late John C. and Edna Cheeks Joines. Mrs. Fair was a retired supervisor with North American Rayon Corp. She was a former co-owner in the Fair Grocery in Johnson City. Mrs. Fair was a charter member of the East Pine Grove Park United Methodist Church, and had served as a teacher in the Young Adult Sunday School Class and worked in the United Methodist Women?s group. She is preceded in death by: her parents, her husband Ray Chase Fair in 1976, three sisters, four brothers, and one granddaughter. Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Lawrence R. Fair and wife Janey of Radcliff, KY; one grandson, Donald A,. Fair of Radcliff ,KY; one great grandson, Stefan R. Mitchell of Radcliff, KY; a special niece, Fran Taylor Garst of Johnson City. Several other nieces and nephews also survive. The funeral service for Hazel Joines Fair will be conducted at 8 PM Tuesday, April 5, 2005 in the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Mrs. Fair?s Pastor Rev. Lon Tobin will officiate . The graveside service will be conducted at 10 AM Wednesday in the Garden of the Word in Monte Vista Memorial Park. Everyone will meet at the cemetery at 9:55 AM Wednesday. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the East Pine Grove Park United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends in the funeral chapel from 6 to 8 PM Tuesday prior to the service. In lieu of flowers the family request that memorials be made to the East Pine Grove Park United Methodist Church, 2215 East Unaka Avenue, Johnson City, TN 37601
