Helen 'Christine'? Greene, 77, Johnson City, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at the Johnson City Medical Center. Mrs. Greene was a native of Whaley, NC and had lived in Johnson City since 1955. She was a daughter of the late Clayton and Frances Guy Estep and was also preceded in death by two brothers, Homer and Kenneth Estep. Mrs. Greene was employed at Mays Brothers Tool Company for twenty-two years until her retirement in the early 90s. Mrs. Greene was a member of Piney Grove Free Will Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, and mamaw. Her four granddaughters were her pride and joy. Survivors include her loving husband of 52 years, James 'Jimmy'? Greene, a daughter and son-in-law, Tina and Luke Whitson, and their daughters, Jessica and Katie Whitson all of Jonesborough; a son and daughter-in-law, Eric and Angie Greene, and their twin daughters, Hope and Faith Stewart all of Johnson City; sisters and brothers-in-law, Lois and Allen Bunton, Darlene and Harold Shook, Carolyn and David Tysinger; brothers and sisters-in-law, Gerald and Rita Estep, Joey and Nancy Estep, Randy and Leah Estep, all of Lexington, NC and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Friday, September 25, 2009 from 6:00 pm until the 8:00 pm service time in the Morris-Baker Funeral Home South Chapel. Reverend Paul Crowe will officiate. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday at Roselawn Memory Gardens. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the funeral home at 12:30 pm and travel in procession to the cemetery. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.
