Herbert Brown Seals

Herbert Brown Seals, age 78, was called home to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 20, 2010 with his family at his side. He was born on September 25, 1931, in Washington County, TN a son of the late Hudie Brown and Rosa Campbell Seals. He was the owner of Seals Landscaping for 40 years and also enjoyed singing and playing his guitar for the residents of the nursing homes in our area and in his church. H.B. also served in the United States Army and was a member of Wayside Baptist Church. Mr. Seals was a loving father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather and uncle. He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Daisy Seals; son, Mickey Seals; sisters, Lois Haney, Wanda Haney and Maxine Troxwell. Mr. Seals is survived by his daughters, Rita Hopson and husband Jay, Becky Wheeler and husband Chuck of Johnson City; sister, Shelia Connor Witaker and Candy Wishon of Johnson City; grandson, David Dawson, Jr., and wife Jan; granddaughters, Pepper Dawson and fiancé Justin Murabits, Daisy Elaine Sanders and husband Joey all of Johnson City, Cammie Kirkland and husband Mike of Erwin, TN and Brittany Taylor of Johnson City; great grandchildren, Cameron, Hayley, Hannah, Sophie, Jackson, Brooke, Valerie and Charlie; also several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Saturday evening, May 22, 2010 from 6 until 8pm at Morris Baker South Chapel. The funeral service will follow at 8pm in the Morris Baker South Chapel with Reverend Tony Smith officiating. Committal service and interment will be held Sunday afternoon, May 23, 2010 at 2pm in the Washington County Memory Gardens. A funeral procession will leave the funeral home Sunday at 1:30pm. Pallbearers will be Joey Sanders, Mike Higgins, Richard Wishon, Jimmy Smith, Lynn Madden and Wendell White. Honorary pallbearers will be Kermit Connor, Chuck Wheeler and David Dawson. The family would like to give a special thanks to all the staff at Northside Hospital, the nurses with Amedysis Home Care and his niece Penney Higgins.
