Herman F. Bradtmueller

January 3, 1922 — February 14, 2008

Herman F. Bradtmueller, 86, Johnson City, died Thursday, February 14, 2008 at his residence. Mr. Bradtmueller was an Allen County, Indiana native and had lived in Johnson City since 1986. He was a son of the late William C. and Caroline Berning Bradtmueller and was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters. Mr. Bradtmueller was retired from the federal government where he was employed as an electrician. He was a WWII US Navy veteran. Mr. Bradtmueller was a Master Mason, a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion and Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Rice Bradtmueller; one daughter, Jan Turner and her husband, Tom, Jonesborough; one son, Jon M. Bradtmueller, Sr. and his wife Jane, Jonesborough; granddaughters, Arianne Bradtmueller, Maryland, Kristin Turner, Jonesborough; grandsons, Jon M. Bradtmueller, Jr., Maryland, Blaine Turner and his wife, Daphane, Jonesborough, Matthew Turner, Jonesborough, great grandson, Bryant Turner, Jonesborough; sisters, Louise Tinsley, Bernadine Leiter both of Indiana and Marcella Berkey, FL; brother, William Bradtmueller, NC and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service with Masonic rites for Mr. Bradtmueller will be conducted at 7 pm Monday, February 18, 2008 from the Morris-Baker Funeral Home North Chapel. Reverend Jerry Fleenor and a Masonic Lodge will officiate. Military graveside services will be held at 10 am Tuesday, February 19, 2008 at Mountain Home National Cemetery. Pastor Steve Harmon and Kingsport VFW Post 3382 will officiate. Pallbearers will be Blaine Turner, Matthew Turner, Jon M. Bradtmueller, Sr., Jon M. Bradtmueller, Jr., Tom Turner and Robert Trent. The family will receive friends from 6-7 pm Monday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent the the American Heart Association, Washington County Unit, First American Center, 208 Sunset Drive, Suite 595A, Johnson City, TN 37604.
