Hollis Greg Dial

Hollis 'Greg'? Dial, 59, of 3907 Timberlake Road , Johnson City died Sunday, January 11, 2009 in the Johnson City Medical Center. Mr. Dial was born July 29, 1949 in Herrin, Illinois and had lived in Johnson City for thirty years. He was a son of the late William Dial and Ruth Harris Dial who lives in Charlottesville, VA. Mr. Dial was a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War serving on the USS John F. Kennedy. He was an agent at the ACT Call center. Survivors other then his mother include: his wife, Frances Ann Leonard Dial of the home; two daughters, Sharon Dial and Tracey Dial, both of Waynesburg, PA; a step-daughter, Kimberly Byrd of Johnson City; two brothers, Bruce Dial of Charlotte, NC and Mark Dial of Gloucester, VA.; two sisters, Ruth Van Dyke of Charlottesville, VA and Beth Stroup of Texas; One grandson, Tyler Dial; several nieces and nephews also survive. A graveside funeral service for Hollis 'Greg'? Dial will be conducted at 1 PM Wednesday, January 14, 2009 at the Mountain Home National Cemetery. Pastor Matthew Young will officiate. Military Honors will be accorded at the graveside by the VFW Post # 3382 of Kingsport and the Tennessee National Guard. The family will receive friends at Morris-Baker from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM on Wednesday. The procession will then leave for the cemetery. The family request that memorial gifts be made to them.
