Mr. Howard Yelton, 94, of Johnson City, passed away, Friday, March 31, 2006 at the Center on Aging and Health in Erwin, where he and our mother was very well taken care of for about two years. Howard was a native of Mitchell County, NC and had lived in Johnson City since 1944. He was a son of the late Allison Yelton and Nora Hoilman Yelton. He retired from Harris Flooring Mill in the year 1972. He was a devoted Christian and a member of Barnes Chapel in Boones Creek. He was going to First Free Will Baptist Church in Keystone when he got sick. Dad loved to fish and hunt, and he was very good at both of them. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by five brothers, three sisters in law, five sisters and three brothers in law also a son by the name of Wade Yelton, his first wife, Martha E. Yelton Winters, and his second wife, Helen Yelton Hurley. Survivors include; three sons, Charles Yelton of Vancouver, Washington, Richard Yelton and wife, Pauline of Pensacola, Fla. and Ronnie Yelton and wife, Kong Cha 'Kim' of Johnson City; three daughters, Francis Sue Street of Johnson City, Lavenis Ann Claman and her husband, Mike of Rainbow City, Ala., and Barbara Crincoli and her husband, Ted of Swansee, Ill.; three stepsons; one brother, Lawrence Yelton of Johnson City; one sister, Argie Lee Lewis of Alaska; 11 grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be conducted at 8:00 PM Sunday from the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Pastors Kenneth Grindstaff and Robert Davis will officiate. Burial services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Monday from the Washington County Memory Gardens. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home by 1:30 PM Monday and proceed to the cemetery. Pallbearers will be Keith Yelton and Douglas Street, Grandsons, Ted Crincoli, son in law, Bobby Owens, Charles Gilley and Ross Able , nephews. The family requests that any contributions are to be sent to 1310 Clearview Drive, Johnson City. Condolences may be sent to the family via www.morrisbaker.com.
