Inez Laverne Branscomb

December 12, 1917 — April 2, 2006

LaVerne Hawkins Branscomb, 88, of the NHC Healthcare Center, died Sunday, April 2, 2006. Mrs. Branscomb was a native of Roswell, GA and had lived in the Johnson City area since 1978 and was a daughter of the late Thomas Earl and Myrtle C. King Hawkins. She was a retired homemaker and member of the Cherokee United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Jackson Branscomb and a sister, Elizabeth Simmons. Survivors include: two sons, Ernest Jackson 'Jack' Branscomb, Jr. and Earl Sanford Branscomb both of Johnson City; two sisters, Ann Enzor of Covington and Tommie Lou Webb of Pikeville; two granddaughters, Christy and Sarah Branscomb; several nieces, nephews and cousins. A graveside service will be conducted on Thursday, April 6, 2006 in the Monte Vista Memorial Park at 2:00 p.m. under the direction of Rev. David Woody. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 5, 2006 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Morris - Baker Funeral Home. Honorary pallbearers will be: Bill Enzor, Marion C. Webb, John Machtolff and Gary Shealy. Memorials may be made in the form of contributions to the American Heart Association, 208 Sunset Drive, Johnson City, TN 37604.
