Irene S. Persinger

Irene S. Persinger, 86, of Johnson City, passed away Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at her home. Mrs. Persinger was a native of Wells, WV. She was a daughter of the late Melvin Fred and Lucy Willis Stanley. Mrs. Persinger attended Piney Grove Baptist Church. She had worked as a solder inspector for Siemens. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers: Roy, Jim, Ray, and an infant brother. Survivors include: three children, Stanley Ross Persinger of Orlando, FL, Michael Wayne Persinger, and Belinda Amanda Wade; seven grandchildren, Laura Karen Lambert, Rachel Henager, Sheena Persinger, Eric Levi Persinger, Jonathan Washburn, Stacy Strunk, and William Wade; eight great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; sisters, Phyllis Presnell, Alma Jean Smith, and twin sister Maxine Smith; brother, Elby Stanley; and several nieces and nephews. The family of Irene S. Persinger will receive friends from 2 pm to 3 pm Monday, March 13, 2017 at Morris-Baker Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow at 3 pm Monday. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Mountain States Hospice and Home Health for their compassion and care, and a very special thank you to grandson, William Wade, for caring for Irene for the past five years.
