J D Almany

J D Almany, 88, 1860 Carroll Creek Road, Johnson City, passed away, Sunday, September 29, 2013 at his residence. Mr. Almany was a Johnson City native who lived all of his life in Washington County and West Palm Beach, Florida. He was a son of the late Roy E. and Myrtle Smith Almany. Mr. Almany was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Disabled American Veterans. He was a retired plumber with Eli Plumbing and member of Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 538 & 630. Mr. Almany was a member of Lodge 303 F&AM and the Amara Shrine, Palm Beach Gardens, FL. In addition to his parents, Mr. Almany was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Bell Shipley Almany. Survivors include: three sisters, Ruby Shipley, Johnson City, Ruth Woodruff, Johnson City, and Marie Clark, Florida; several nieces and nephews; several great nieces and nephews; and caregivers, Melissa Hayer, Elizabethton, and Sari Barnett, Johnson City.
