J. D. Mcinturff

Mr. J. D. 'Dave'? McInturff, 79, 1508 Bell Ridge Road, Johnson City passed away Friday, January 22, 2010 at his residence. Mr. McInturff was a native of Unicoi County and had lived most of his life in Johnson City. He was the son of the late Dewey and Myrtle Whittamore McInturff. In addition to his parents one son, Steven Dale McInturff; one sister, Mary Nelson; one brother, Fred McInturff also preceded him in death. Mr. McInturff retired from the United States Postal Service after thirty-one years of service. Survivors include: his wife of fifty-four years, Lee McInturff of the home; one son, Scott McInturff of Unicoi; one brother, Bob McInturff and his wife Marjorie of Johnson City; seven sisters, Jean Roberts of Johnson City, Dot McInturff of Unicoi, Peggy Johnson and her husband Johnny of Unicoi, Thelma Ray and her husband Leonard of Unicoi, Cathy Reevey and her husband Mike of Houston, Texas, Val Robison and her husband Rich of Gettysburg, Pa. And Vi Barcel of Erwin; three grandchildren, David A. McInturff of Unicoi, Nikki Shell of Johnson City and Melanie McInturff of Johnson City; four great grandchildren, Megan McInturff of Jonesborough, Samantha Marie Hammett of Johnson City, Meleah McInturff of Unicoi and Steven McInturff of Unicoi. The funeral service for Mr. J. D. 'Dave'? McInturff will be conducted at 2 PM Monday, January 25, 2010 in the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Rev. Dean Presnell will officiate. The graveside committal service will follow in the McInturff-Barnett Cemetery in Unicoi. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The family will receive friends from 12 to 2 PM Monday prior to the service.
