Jackson 'Jack'? Edward Blevins, age 85, of Kingsport, Tennessee died Friday, April 30, 2010 in the Indian Path Hospital. Jack was born August 12, 1924 a son of the late Oscar Dalton and Odie Jackson Blevins in Washington County, Tennessee and had lived in Sullivan County since 1955. He was an Honorable Discharged Army veteran proudly serving his country during World War II in Europe. He was awarded four Battle Stars, the Good Conduct Metal, the German Occupation Ribbon and was an Expert Driver of Wheels. Jack was a retired employee at Tennessee Eastman Co. with over thirty- seven years of service. He was a member of the Boones Creek Christian Church. In addition to his parents, Jack is preceded in death by three brothers, Harvey Hester, Charles Hester, and Bill Blevins. Survivors include: his loving wife of sixty-two years, Evelyn Mitchell Blevins of the home; one sister, Helen Lewis of Johnson City, and two brothers, Oscar Blevins and Earl Blevins, both of Johnson City. The family of Jackson 'Jack'? Edward Blevins will receive friends on Tuesday, May 4, 2010 in the Boones Creek Christian Church from 1 to 2 PM. The funeral service will follow at 2 PM Tuesday in the Church. Mr. Charles Reece, Mr. David Clark and Rev. J.W. Depew will officiate. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Interment will follow in the Monte Vista Memorial Park. Mrs. Blevins would like to express her appreciation to the Doctors and Nurses Staff of the Indian Path Medical Center for their loving care and concern, to Rev. Mike Owens, Rev. Paul Manis and Mr. Dick Morris for their loving ministry and to Tammy Payne, the Colonial Heights Christian Church, the Loving In Home Care Staff and the friends and neighbors for their love, care, prayers and support shown to Mr. And Mrs. Blevins. The family suggest that memorial gifts be sent to the Building Fund of the Boones Creek Christian Church, 305 Christian Church Road, Gray, TN 37615
