James D. Lovelady, 78, 1708 Scenic Drive, Johnson City, died Wednesday, April 20, 2005 at the Johnson City Medical Center. Mr. Lovelady was a native of Youngstown, Ohio and had lived in Johnson City for the past 40 years. He was a son of the late James Henry and Mary Magdalene Lovelady and was also preceded in death by his wife, Sybil Lovelady in 2000, one brother, Paul Lovelady and one sister, Lois Brooks. Mr. Lovelady was retired from Texas Instruments. He was a WWII US Navy veteran and served on the USS Missouri. Mr. Lovelady was a member of Southwestern Baptist Church, The Loyal Order of Moose and the Johnson City Veterans of Foreign Wars. Survivors include three daughters, Tracey L. Behrer and her husband, Lynn, Johnson City, Deonna Revels and her husband, Maurice and Leslie Bean all of NC; four sons, Tim Lovelady and his wife Kathy, Unicoi, Dan Lovelady and his wife, Lisa, Knoxville, Fred Day and his wife Nancy, Knoxville and Chris Lovelady; fourteen grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. A funeral service for Mr. Lovelady will be conducted at 8 PM Thursday from the Morris-Baker Funeral Home South Chapel. Reverend Johnny Jones will officiate. Graveside services, with military honors, will be held at 10 AM Friday at Mountain Home National Cemetery, Mountain Home, TN. Family and friends will assemble at the cemetery. Pallbearers will be selected from family, friends and the deacons at Southwestern Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
