James Wilson

October 8, 1924 — May 9, 2005

James Wilson, 80, 764 Ryder?s Church Road, Bluff City, died Monday, May 09, 2005 at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Mr. Wilson was a Carter County native, a former resident of Greene and Washington Counties and had lived in Sullivan County for the past eight years. He was a son of the late John Wilson and Zillia Bowers Wilson and was also preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Sue Wilson; two sons, Charlie Wilson and Bud Wilson and two daughters, Patsy Phillips and Shirley Wilson. Mr. Wilson was retired from Tri-Cities Trucking Company. He was a WWII US Navy veteran. Mr. Wilson was a Baptist. Survivors include his wife, Robin Wilson, Bluff City; one son, James H. Wilson and his wife, Debbie, Johnson City; one daughter, Zilla Wilds and her husband, Dexton, Greeneville; one step daughter, Chastity Wilson, Bluff City; one, half brother, Ken Callaway, Elizabethton; one, half sister, Barbara Gentry, Knoxville; seven grandchildren and several great grandchildren. A funeral service for Mr. Wilson will be conducted at 8 PM Thursday from the Morris-Baker Funeral Home South Chapel. Reverend Steve Hillman and Reverend Junior Briggs will officiate. Military graveside services will be held at 10 AM Friday at Mountain Home National Cemetery, Mountain Home Tennessee. Family and friends are asked to assemble at 9:30 AM at the funeral home and travel in procession to the cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Steve Wilson, Kevin Humphries, Scott Wilson and Shane Wilcox. Honorary pallbearers will be the Doctors and Nurses at the VA Hospital and Nursing Home. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Thursday at the funeral home
