Janet Linda Scott

Janet Linda Markland Scott, 79, of Watauga, died Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at her residence. She was a native of Elizabethton, daughter of the late Robert Austin and Alice Bryant Markland. Janet was a homemaker. She was a member of the New Hope Church of Christ. In addition to her parents, a sister, Jean Davis and a brother-in-law, Don Treadway had preceded her in death. Survivors include: her husband, Norman E. Scott, Jr of the home; three sons, Norman E. Scott, III of Lawrenceville, GA, Robert ?Allen' Scott of Johnson City and J. Michael ?Mike' Scott of Stockbridge, GA; two sisters, Dolores (and Glen) Medearis of Bristol, TN and Sandra Treadway of Elizabethton; five grandchildren, James, Shelby and Austyn Scott and D. J. and Taylor Ray; two great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 16, 2018 at Morris-Baker from 3:00 pm until 4:00 pm in the Dogwood Chapel. A funeral service is scheduled for Sunday, December 16, 2018 at 4:00 pm under the direction of Mr. Paul Peer. A committal service will be conducted on Monday, December 17, 2018 at Mountain Home National Cemetery at 10:45 am. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the cemetery by 10:30 am on Monday.
