Jeanette Holden

Jeanette Gray Holden, 81, 2422 Stone Drive, died Monday, December 12, 2005, at Johnson City Medical Center after an extended illness. Mrs. Holden was a Washington County native. She was a daughter of the late Grover Cleveland and Myrtle Jackson Gray. She was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Holden taught piano, worked in the retail grocery industry, and was employed in motel management, respectively, prior to her retirement. During her retirement years, before ill health slowed her down, she enjoyed socializing with friends and family, cooking, gardening and music. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Robert S. Holden in September 2005; a sister, Sylvia J. Fugate; and both of her brothers, Beryl D. Gray and George L. Gray. Survivors are her children, Charlsie J. Holden, Darrell L. Holden, Benjamin G. Holden, and M.Ellen Holden; a daughter-in-law, Gail Holden; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A funeral service for Jeanette Gray Holden will be held on Wednesday, December 14, 2005 at 2:00 PM from the Morris Baker North Chapel. The Reverend James Pollock will officiate. Committal services will follow at the Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery, Sullivan County. Members of the Washington County-Johnson City EMS crew will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home for one hour prior to the funeral.
