Rev. Jeanette Carver, age 40, of 301 W. 3rd Avenue, Watauga, died Thursday, March 23, 2006 at her residence. She was a native of Russell County, Virginia but had lived in Watauga the past 8 years. She was a daughter of Edna May Dean Jessee and the late Robert Blaine Jessee. She was also preceded in death by one brother, William Jessee. Rev. Carver was a member and Associate Pastor of the First Church of God on Lynn Avenue in Elizabethton. She was President of the Women?s Society and Minister of Youth. Survivors include; her husband, Rev. Jerry Carver; two daughters, Mindy Malone and her husband, Shawn of Bluff City and Becky Brewer and her fianc?e Aaron Hawkins of Watauga; three stepchildren, Nancy Grooms of Greeneville, Ronnie Carver and Brian Carver both of Limestone; two grandchildren, Alexis Malone and Michelle Maolone; nine step-grandchildren and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. A funeral service for Rev. Jeanette Carver will be conducted at 2:00 PM Sunday from the Lynn Avenue First Church of God in Elizabethton. Revs. Larry Pike and Mike Crosby will officiate. Rev. Carver will lie in state at the church from 1:00 until 2:00 PM Sunday. Burial will be held in Scalf Cemetery following the service. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Saturday. Acitve pallbearers will be, Danny Brewer, Keith Shell, Tony Carver, Robbie Austin, J. W. Jessee and Kenneth Ray.
