Jewell Dean Hollingsworth Jones, 88, of Johnson City, passed away on Monday, June 1, 2020, at Agape Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born in 1932 in Dyersburg, Tennessee, a daughter of the late James Grady Hollingsworth and Ivy Jane Mangrum Hollingsworth.
Mrs. Jones was a lifelong Christian and a member of The Answer Baptist Church.
She will be remembered as a woman that was loved by everyone who knew her, who would always go out of her way for others. She was a wonderful grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, who took great care of her family.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Jones, in 2007; four brothers, J. G. Hollingsworth, Jr., D. Hollingsworth, W. E. Hollingsworth, and A.L. Hollingsworth; and one grandson, Coby Zeoli.
Those left to cherish her memory are: her children, Stephanie Radford and husband Jerry, Gloria Overbay and husband Danny, Pete Jones and wife Edna, and Desireé Honeycutt; sister, Rosie Powell; grandchildren, Shanna Greenlee, Jason Radford, Courtney Howell, Reneé Hilbert and husband Aaron, Amber Jones, Heather Coffey and husband Chris, Kristopher Honeycutt and wife Bridgette; nine great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; as well as many special friends.
The family of Jewell Jones will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Thursday, June 4, 2020, at Morris-Baker Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 PM, officiated by Pastor Todd Kuykendall. A committal service will be conducted privately at Washington County Memory Gardens.
