Jimmy Dean Hawkins

July 30, 1939 — September 18, 2005

Jimmy Dean Hawkins, 66, of 503 W. Watauga Avenue, died Sunday, September 18, 2005 at his residence. He was a native of Washington County, son of the late, James Anderson and Thelma Jean Felts Hawkins, and had lived here most of his life. Mr. Hawkins was a truck driver and was of the Baptist faith. He was a veteran of the Viet Nam War and had served in the U. S. Navy. In addition to his parents he, was preceded in death by a sister, Charlotte Livesay. Survivors include; two sons, Jeffery Dean Hawkins, Arab, Alabama and Aaron Adam Hawkins, Johnson City; two daughters, Sharon Denise Hawkins, San Diego, California and Deana Ann Moore of Johnson City; two sisters, Helen Sue Isenberg, Gray and Sara Bell Hayes of Johnson City, five grandchildren and one great grandchild; several nieces and nephews. A funeral is scheduled for Tuesday, September 20, 2005 in the South Chapel of the Morris - Baker Funeral Home at 8:00 p.m. under the direction of Rev. Ira Cunningham and Rev. Scott Hayes, with special music provided by, Tracy Pigford. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until time of service at eight. A committal service will be conducted on Wednesday, September 21, 2005 in the Mountain Home National Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the cemetery. Active pallbearers will be: Roger Hayes, David Hinkle, Eddie Douglas, Clint Douglas, LeRoy Hawkins and Freddie Hawkins; honorary pallbearers will be: Cleo Davis, Bill Heaton and Ron Johnson. The VFW Post 3382 will provide military honors. Memorials may be made in the form of contributions to the American Heart Association, 208 Sunset Drive, Johnson City, TN 37604 (423) 282-5388.
