Mrs. Joan Lee Cozad Crawford, 85, of Johnson City, passed away Sunday, March 16, 2014 in Colonial Hills Retirement Center. Mrs. Crawford was a lifelong resident of Johnson City. She was a daughter of the late Floyd Benjamin and Olive Gertrude Wright Cozad. In addition to her parents, her beloved husband, Ralph Reeves Crawford, five brothers, and two sisters, preceded her in death. She was of the Baptist faith. In addition to spending time with her family, Joan loved sewing and art. She won many ribbons at the Appalachian Fair for her artwork. She also enjoyed gardening, and especially loved roses. Survivors include: three daughters, Beverly Greene, Brenda McInturff and her husband Landon, and Sherry Allen and her husband Gary; six grandchildren, Becky Holt, John McInturff, Judy Lewis, Abby Greene, Gary Lee Allen, and Cary Crawford Allen; seven great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; four sisters, Patsy Blevins, Linda Wynn, Ruth Hollifield, and Patricia Jones; and several nieces and nephews. The Crawford family would like to extend a very special thank you to Colonial Hills Retirement Center for their superb level of compassion and care for Joan. Sincerest thank you also to Joans special caregivers, Angie Bennett, Sue and Mike Hubbard, and to Amedisys Hospice. The family of Mrs. Joan Crawford will receive friends from 1 to 2 PM Tuesday, March 18, 2014 in Morris-Baker Funeral Home. The committal service will follow in Monte Vista Memorial Park. Rev. Claude Babb will officiate. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Minister, family, and friends are requested to meet at the funeral home by 1:50 PM Tuesday to go in procession to the cemetery for those services.
