John J. Price

John Price, 69, died at his home on Bill Bennett Road, Johnson City on Wednesday, September 27, 2006 from a bout with cancer. John was a native of Carter County, Tennessee and had lived in Michigan, Florida and North Carolina before returning to Tennessee. John was an avid bird watcher and bird feeder. He loved nature and all living things. John had many friends who he loved and was devoted to. He was a Devoted Father, Grandfather, and loving husband and will be missed by all. John served his country in the United States Air Force from 1955 to 1957. He was employed by Ford Motor Co. in Michigan and received a medical retirement in 1979. John was a member of the Sinking Creek Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by: his mother, Blanche Edens; his grandparents, Grace and Harley Price ; a brother, Bobby Price; and several aunts. Survivors include: his wife, Patricia (Pat) of the home; two daughters, Lona Price of Lake Worth, FL, and Tamara Young of West Palm Beach, FL; three grandchildren, Johnny Young, Sara Young, Mariah Trow and an honorary granddaughter, Tanaya Reys; two step children and their spouses, Cynthia and Dana Schrieber of Muskegon, Michigan, Stephen and Traci Wales of Hastings, Michigan; four grandchildren, Christopher Reynolds, Courtney Morris, Kailyn Wales and Connor Wales; one aunt, Mamie Dickerson of Elizabethton and one uncle, Dudley Price of Elizabethton. The funeral service for John Price will be conducted Saturday, September 30, 2006 in the Morris-Baker South Chapel . Rev. Reece Harris will officiate. The family will receive friends in the funeral chapel from 2 to 4 PM Saturday prior to the service. Interment will be on Monday October 2, 2006 at 1:00 PM in the Burgoon Cemetery, Bloomington, Indiana. Everyone will meet at the cemetery. Active pallbearers will be family and friends.
