John Leonard Bragg

March 16, 1920 — February 4, 2011

John Leonard Bragg, Jr., age 90, of Johnson City, passed away on Friday, February 4, 2011 at his residence. Mr. Bragg was born in Spartanburg, South Carolina, a son of the late John Lenoard and Cloe Bragg. He was a veteran of the Army Air Corp having served during World War II. He received the following decorations and citations, Eamet Campaign Medal with 6 bronze Service stars, Good Conduct Medal, and the American Defense Service Medal. Mr. Bragg was a manager for Trendline Furniture Company and retired with 32 years of service. He and his wife at the time of retirement starting buying and selling antiques. Mr. Bragg attended Johnson City Baptist Temple and True Gospel Baptist Church. He was a member of the American Legion Watauga Post #49. He is survived by his wife, Lois Louise Bragg; two brothers, Hershel Bragg and wife Faye, of Ellisville, MS and David Thomas Bragg and wife Nancy, of Harrison, TN; one sister, Amy Bragg Wallace, of Hickory, NC; two sister-in-laws, Charlotte Furches and husband Paul, of Maryville, TN and Patsy Leona Entz, of Johnson City, TN; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Wednesday, February 9, 2011 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm in the Morris-Baker Funeral Home North Chapel. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm in the Morris-Baker Funeral Home North Chapel with Rev. Wilkie Brookshire and Rev. Dean Presnell officiating. Graveside service will follow in the Mountain Home National Cemetery with military honors to be rendered by the Boone Dam VFW Post #4933 and members of the Tennessee Army National Guard.
