John Warren Martin

John Warren Martin, 84, of Johnson City, TN, died Tuesday, December 20, 2005 at the Johnson City Medical Center. He was born February 19, 1921 in Johnson City, TN. He was a son of the late Elbert K. Martin and Mollie Martin He was also preceded in death by his loving wife, Nellie Christian 'Price' Martin in 1990. Two brothers James Martin and Paul Martin. He was a retired employee of Mason and Dixon Trucking Lines. He worked most of his working life there except when he served in the United States Navy during World War II. He was a loving father to three children; one daughter, Janie Tipton and her husband, Ronnie of Unicoi; two sons, James 'Jimmie' Martin and Hank Martin andhis wife, Wanda, all of Johnson City; one sister, Lorraine Baker of Ohio; three grandchildren, Kristen Martin and Michael Martin both of Johnson City and Joshua Tipton of Unicoi; three great grandchildren, Jayden Martin, Colby Martin and Arryhana Martin and several nieces and nephews. He loved to walk and he spent many hours and days doing so. A funeral service has been scheduled for 8:00 PM Monday in the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Mr. Scott Marshall will officiate. Burial will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday in the Monte Vista Memorial Park. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home Tuesday by 12:30pm to go in procession to the cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Monday at the funeral home.
