Mr. Johnny J. Miller, age 77, of Johnson City, passed away Tuesday, February 25, 2014, in the Johnson City Medical Center. Mr. Miller was a native of Avery County, North Carolina. He was the son of the late Robert F. and Myrtle Cooper Miller. In addition to his parents, one daughter, Sindi Miller Collins also preceded him in death. Mr. Miller retired from Daniels Construction after thirty years of service. He was a member of the Kings Springs Baptist Church. Johnny was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and a blessing to all who knew him. He loved life, enjoyed fishing and golfing. He sponsored the J.Js T-Ball team for fourteen years in Leland, North Carolina. He is survived by his wife of thirty- five years, Mary Britt Miller; two daughters, Vicki Miller Watson and her husband David and Jennifer Miller Benton and her husband Harry; one son, John J, Miller; six sisters, Alma McNabb, Margaret Manning, Norma Campbell, Sue Barnett, Phil Ann Rupe and Sandra Berry; four brothers, Raymond Miller, Bobby Miller, Jerry Miller and Frank Miller; eight grandchildren, Krissi Elshaug and her husband David, Brad Watson and his wife Carrie, Matt Watson and his wife Erin, Sindi Coward and her husband Allen, Deidre Watson, Brandon Miller, Chris Benton and his wife Kristin and Sierra Benton; eight great grandchildren, Azareah Collins, Nolan Watson, Aaron Elshaug, Will Coward, Ellis Watson, Ezrie Elshaug, Boston Benton and Emma Grace Coward; numerous nieces and nephews; her extended family, Kelly Miller, Jerry and Vicki Campbell, Steve Hinkle and Wayne Campbell. The family would like to express a special thank you to his Home Health Care Nurses Jessica, Jerry and Vicki Campbell, Gail Hickey, Henry Britt, Josh Hyder, Margaret Manning, Norma Campbell for all their help and loving support. The family of Mr. Johnny J. Miller will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Friday, February 28, 2014, at Morris-Baker. The funeral service will follow at 8 PM in the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Pastor Mike Garland will officiate.
