Joseph Vincent Fazio

Joseph Vincent Fazio, 72, of Unicoi, went to be with the Lord, on Thursday, March 24, 2005, at the Sycamore Shoals Hospital in Elizabethton. He was a native of Manhattan, NY, son of the late Salvatore and Francesca Comparetto Fazio, and was also preceded in death by one nephew, Stephen Fazio. Mr. Fazio started his career as an employee of Peat, Marwick and Mitchell, later an employee of the NY Yankees, the American Bankers Association and retired from the Chase Manhattan Bank after 25 years of service. A Protestant, Mr. Fazio had served in the U.S. Army. He was survived by his wife, Barbara Sherretz Fazio; a son, Gianni Antonio Fazio, Alpine, Wyoming; two daughters, Carla Adrienne Fazio, Sunshine, Alaska, and Elisa Mia Fazio, Montclair, NJ; a granddaughter, Sara Mia Abdich, Tampa, FL; and a grandson, Joseph Montana Pride, Sunshine, Alaska; a brother, Vincent James Fazio, Manhattan, and sister in law, Wilhelmina; a niece, Elisa Francesca Fazio-Ghaly, Louisville, KY; a nephew, Christopher Fazio, Manhattan; an uncle, Dante Comparetto, Elmond, Montana; a special friend, Dr. William Garitano, Gray, TN; and pets, Roger and Angel. A funeral service is scheduled for, Monday, March 28, 2005, in the North Chapel of the Morris-Baker Funeral Home at 8:00 p.m. under the direction of Rev. Sam Ferguson and a minister from Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until time of service at eight. A military graveside service will be conducted on Tuesday, March 29, 2005, in the Roselawn Memory Gardens at 10:00 a.m. A military honor guard will serve as pallbearers. The family and friends are asked to assemble at 9:45 a.m. in the cemetery.
