Josephine Estel Reece

August 5, 1921 — May 25, 2005

Josephine Reece, 83, 152 Boone Drive, Gray, died Wednesday, May 25, 2005 at the Johnson City Medical Center. Mrs. Reece was a native of Carter County and had lived in Washington County most of her life. She was a daughter of the late Samuel and Nancy Evans Good and was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert C. Reece, one son Michael Reece, one grandson, Jonathan Reece and several brothers and sisters. Mrs. Reece was a member of East Pine Grove Park United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women?s Society. She is survived by two sons, Robert Reece, Jr., of the home and Sammy Reece and his wife, Sarah, Johnson City; one daughter, Donna Ball and her husband, Darel, Telford; one sister, Marie Oxendine, and her husband, Bobby, Johnson City; four grandchildren, Jason Ball, Brenda Ball, Byria Weems and William McCoy; four great grandchildren, Sarah Ball, Alyssa Weems, Alex Weems and Andrew Weems and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service for Mrs. Reece will be conducted at 2 PM Saturday, May 28, 2005 from the Morris-Baker Funeral Home South Chapel. Reverend Lon Tobin and Reverend Donnie Harris will officiate. Burial will follow at Monte Vista Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Bob James, Bob Oxendine, Johnny Daniels and Jim Yelton will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 12 Noon until service time, Saturday, at the funeral home.
