Joyce Evans

Joyce Ely Evans, 57, 714 Sunset Drive, died Saturday, July 30, 2005 at her residence. Mrs. Evans was a native of Stone, KY and had lived in Johnson City since 1960. She was a daughter of Lillian Spaid Ely, Gray and the late T. J. Ely and was also preceded in death by one son, Joe Hayes and one brother, Bill Deaver. Mrs. Evans was a former employee of the Johnson City and Elizabethton Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Shamrock Beverage and Tobacco Shop. She was a member of the Unicoi Free Will Baptist Church. Survivors in addition to her mother, include her husband, James Evans; one sister, Marie Ely, Gray; three nieces, Tina Meyer, Olivia Evans and Kayla Ledford; two nephews, Bobby Joe Daniels and Clinton Miller; great niece, Harley Marie Hoilman and great nephew, Jonathan Mark Reynolds. A funeral service for Mrs. Evans will be held at 8 PM Monday, August1, 2005 from the Morris-Baker Funeral Home South Chapel. Reverend Nathan Jennings will officiate. Graveside services will be held at 2 PM Tuesday at Monte Vista Memorial Park. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the funeral home at 1:30 PM and travel in procession to the cemetery. Pallbearers will be Gene Sparks, Stanley Hill, D.H. Garland, John Ledford, Bob Gouge, Charlie Locke and Clinton Miller. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Monday at the funeral home
