Karl L Icenogle

Karl L. Icenogle, 81, Piney Flats, TN, died Sunday, February 25, 2007 at Holston Valley Medical Center, Kingsport, TN. Mr. Icenogle was an Atlanta GA native and had lived most of his life in Redlands, CA before moving to Piney Flats in 2002. He was a son of the late Karl L. Icenogle, Sr. and Inez Allen Icenogle. Mr. Icenogle was a US Navy WWII veteran. He retired from Rohr Industries as a chemical engineer. Mr. Icenogle graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology, earned a master?s degree from the University of Southern California, was a member of SAMPE Management Club, the Toastmasters, was active in the Redlands Footlighters Community Theater and was a Master Mason. He attended St. John?s Episcopal Church, Johnson City, TN and Jonesborough Presbyterian Church. Survivors include his wife, Carol Turner Icenogle; sister, Ruth McCann, Atlanta, GA; son, Roger Icenogle, Invergrove Heights, MN; daughters, Ellen Wallace, Tinley Park, IL and Teresa Schuh, Napa, CA; stepson, Robert Moorefield, Piney Flats; step daughters, Robbin Dalke, Huntington Beach, CA and Vicki Owen, Corvallis, OR; nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren. A funeral service for Mr. Icenogle will be conducted Tuesday, February 27, 2007, at 12 noon at St. John?s Episcopal Church, Johnson City, TN. The Reverend Hal Hutchison will officiate. Graveside services with military honors will be held at 2 pm at Mountain Home National Cemetery, Mountain Home, TN. Family members will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer?s Disease Foundation, Northeast TN Chapter, 207 N. Boone Street, Suite 1050, Johnson City, TN 37604 or the Holston Valley Hospice, 130 W. Ravine Drive Road, Kingsport, TN 37660.
